Family photos, without the group-chat dump
A phone backup is not an album. A shared iCloud folder is not a story. Kinlet keeps a photo library for the family, then albums when you want a set with a name and a guest list.
Library first
Import from the camera roll. Attach photos to journal entries as you go. Capture dates matter later, when Studio tries to put the first birthday with the first birthday, so let Kinlet keep the date when you can.
This is not a race for free cloud terabytes. These are the pictures that belong next to your words.
Albums you control
Make an album for “Labor and the first week,” “Cabin with the cousins,” “Grandma’s visit.” Add the photos that belong. Leave the rest in the library.
Keepers create albums. If you are in member mode, you wait for a keeper to open the album, then you can live in it.
Invite without making it Instagram
Share with the people who should see that set: partner, grandparents, the friend who flew in. They can like and comment inside Kinlet. There is no public profile, no explore page, no ads against the baby’s face.
You can pull access later. The journal does not automatically become visible because an album is.
Same photos, later a book
Studio reads the library and what you marked as book-ready. You are not exporting a zip to another app. The album is for sharing now; the book is for the shelf.

Is this Tinybeans?
Same job (private family photos), different end. Kinlet assumes you also want sentences and a designed hardcover, not only a feed.
Can I share one album and keep the journal private?
Yes. That is the usual setup.
What happens if two people upload the same weekend?
Both can add. You tidy in the album; Studio still lets you drop a duplicate page before print.
Do you compress everything to mush?
Print needs decent files. Check current plan limits on Plans.
Ready when you have one spare minute
Start a journal. Add a photo later. The book can wait until the pages exist.
Likes and comments stay in the family
That is the whole social layer. Enough for grandparents. Not another feed to maintain.
